AVA 4.0 - New features & Innovations

Welcome to AVA 4.0! This much awaited and anticipated release represents a complete rewrite of the software within a new application framework (Cocoa), further strengthening our promise to stay at the forefront of advancing technology. With the launch of AVA 4.0 the future now looks even brighter, allowing more efficient, faster development and maintenance of AVA. This latest version is packed with exciting developments and innovations to speed up your work flow.

64 Bit compatibility and processing* AVA 4.0 now has the ability to use 64 bit processors* fully – processing commands much faster to givequicker results. 64 bit also allows users to access allof the installed RAM on their system. Thecombination of super fast 64 bit processorsand access to all the installed RAM meansAVA 4.0 will work effortlessly at blistering rates and handle almost unlimited file sizes,with great ease!

All New Quick Colourways. AVA 4.0’s Quick Colourways has been completely rewritten, providing many new benefits for all AVA Colour users. Background printing allows users to continue working while they print, increasing speed and productivity. The introduction of a new improved Text tool, now allows live editing. Quick colourways now has no effective size limit to its pages. Improved object navigation, dynamic text addition and live changeable colour palettes. The all new Quick Colourways is a big step up for all users.


‘Real Time’ Filters, Features & Editing Both the Filter Browser and Combine to Layer features have been updated, allowing the user to view filters and combination effects in the Design window in ‘Real Time’, thus maintaining a smooth workflow. The Overview window now updates previous amendments to repeats instantly. Editing of text areas such as layer names and selections is now also live – eliminating the need for modal windows.


Gamma Inspector. Not only does AVA 4.0’s Gamma window work in unision with active layers, the gamma curves are now all stored within the History enabling you to go back and adjust previous curves. You can now make adjustments to multiple layers with one global gamma window.


Colourways Browser The brand new Colourways browser sits comfortably in the design window, offering the user a quick and convenient area to arrange, edit and organise colourways. With bold chips, users can now re-colour, swop colours and delete unwanted colourways, all from the design window.


Colour manage multiple displays. Take full advantage of dual display with AVA 4.0. Not only is there a choice of which displays to calibrate (both or just one), now thanks to strengthened links with the Mac OS Software, both screens can also be profiled, giving users colour accuracy on each display.


Stitch Brush effect Turn your standard and custom brush shapes into a realistic stitching effect with AVA 4.0. Choose from dash or dot dash formation and adjust spacing and stitch length to create realistic looking stitching. Use the effect in conjunction with vectors to carefully place your stitching before final rendering.


AVA Digital Print RIP Formally AVA Server, AVA Digital Print RIP takes a large step forward from its predecessor. Offering In-RIP colour management (assigning profiles to hot folders) and pre print inspection of print files (warning users of clashing colour spaces) users now gain full control of colour at the point of print. In addition to the fact that AVA 4.0 print files now contain embedded CMS profiles, AVA Digital Print RIP also accepts tiff files directly acknowledging any embedded profiles. AVA Digital Print RIP also drives the following new printers directly: Mimaki JV33, Epson 4800 and Roland LEC-300.
