Training

AVA Advance, the collective for our training programmes, offers a range of comprehensive training solutions adapted to each user's needs and knowledge levels. Training pace is defined by your requirements and all AVA trainers ensure you take full advantage of each training session and help you incorporate your new skills into your workflow. AVA Advance is split into 6 training options so that you can find the training programme that best suits you:

• One to One training: is completely geared to the requirements of individual trainee. There is one trainer and one trainee, with an optional observer allowed, if required. Training can either be arranged to take place at AVA's headquarters or on site with customers.

• Group training: is conducted on the same basis as our One-to-one training sessions, but allows for up to four people to be trained at the same time. Training can either be arranged to take place at AVA's headquarters or on site if suitable equipment is available.

• Refresher training: runs annually and is designed specifically to cover the new features which have been introduced into the AVA design software in the last 12 months. At present these are only carried out at AVA's head office in the UK, unless a group booking is made (minimum 4 people).

• E-training: training is remotely conducted via an Internet connection. There are a range of different options to choose from and the items covered will reflect the option chosen. Sessions last 2 hours maximum and include a consultation prior to the training session, to discuss requirements. This format is ideal for busy CAD operators who need training but cannot spare a whole day. It is considered as a “quick fix” for urgent training requirements and does not replace any of the more detailed training programmes.

• CAD Specialist training (CST): is run over a 3 month period, twice a year at AVA's head office, and is aimed at design graduates and customer employees who require an intensive introduction to CAD/CAM. The course covers all aspects of the AVA design software from design origination and repeating, to separation, re-colouring and 3D mapping, as well as Mac OS X basics, printing methods and an overview of the range of industrial contexts in which the software is used.

• CAD Assessments: are designed to evaluate the current working knowledge of each CAD operator and assess skills gaps in order to focus further training more effectively. Hundreds of features from relevant modules in the AVA design software are covered and a report of the assessment, along with training recommendations are given to the CAD Manager.
