In spite of the increase consumption in laminates and vinyl flooring during the last decade, this market has recently become extremely competitive and aggressive pricing is widely applied. To compete successfully, flooring companies need to optimise resources and reduce costs. This is where AVA's software and a digital workflow can help.
AVA has worked with customers to gain an understanding of specialist industry challenges such as complex separations and overprinting, large file sizes, difficult repeats and warping, and has integrated solutions for these specific problems into the software in a way which offers our customers significant, demonstrable and immediate productivity gains over the use of generic software products.
AVA's overprinting model and production tonal databases (developed especially for the flooring industry) take into account the requirements of post printing treatments, heating and the wide use in the woodgrains sector of many dark colours in order to ensure accurate matching from monitor to digital printer right through to bulk (usually gravure) printed production. Using the AVA software, samples can also be produced digitally on production paper which can then be laminated to mimic production. This enables samples to be shown in their finished form without the time and expense of committing to engraving and the proof press.
